The Shell is a multinational company and in Pakistan it is registered as a public limited under the company ordinance. Shell have most famous brand name with a 100 year back in this region. The history of the company is possession of a fuel storage tank form 1899. However, the documented history of the Royal Dutch/Shell group in indo-pak subcontinent dated back to 1903 when a partnership was struck between the shall transport and trading company and the Royal Dutch petroleum company to supply petroleum products in Asia.
After become make the Pakistan the name was changed to the Burmah Shell Oil distribution company of Pakistan.In 1970, when 51% of the shareholding was transferred to Pakistani Investors. The name of the company was changed to Pakistan Burmsh Shell Oil Limited.The Shell and Burmah groups of retained the remaining 49% in equal proportions. February of 1993 as a result of a decision by Burmah oil to divest in Pakistan and the deregulation policy of the Government, the shell petroleum company bought the shares of Burmah oil company and 2% shares form the market and become the major shareholder in the Shell Pakistan Limited.
